OMU partners with local agencies to assist customers; here’s how you can help

Owensboro Municipal Utilities understands the coronavirus pandemic has created financial hardship for many of our customers and we continue to assist those customers throughout this crisis. OMU’s Community Cares Program is a unique partnership between OMU and the Salvation Army. OMU provides funds to the Salvation Army annually designated to assist our customers in need pay their utility bill. In addition, donations made by customers are added to those funds.…

Lighting contest winner announced

We are proud to announce the winner of the 2020 OMU Holiday Lighting Contest. The home of LeAnn Huffman, Chris and Sloan at 2904 Wesleyan Park Place was selected for its use of color, number of lights and overall appeal. Maintenance power outages planned in Thoroughbred Acres area

On Thursday and Friday, November 19 and 20, OMU electric crews will be making upgrades in the area shown above, which primarily includes Thoroughbread Acres. Enter the Holiday Lighting Contest

OMU and the City of Owensboro Neighborhood Alliance Program are once again hosting the annual Golden Santa Award. This unique residential holiday lighting contest carries with it not only bragging rights, but a $250 OMU gift certificate, prize package and a lighted yard sign. Routine flushing of OMU water system to begin October 26

Owensboro Municipal Utilities crews will be conducting the utility’s semi-annual water line flush for city customers starting October 26. The flushing is expected to take approximately one week. Crews will be working between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. each of those days and will begin on the northeast end of the city and work south and west.
