Plant A – Water Treatment

U.S. Highway 144

OMU’s Plant A Water Treatment facility, which had a pumping capacity of 20 million gallons per day (MGD), became operational in 1905. Plant A was retired in 2020 due to aging and the settling of a portion of the building. The Cavin Water Treatment Facility was expanded from 10 MGD to 30 MGD, replacing the need for the older treatment plant. Plant A is currently scheduled for demolition over the next 18 months.
