Manage Service

Setting up or changing your OMU service is quick and easy. Continue reading to find out how to start, stop, or move your service.

Start Service

Are you currently not an OMU customer and looking to establish new service?

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Physical address (where do you need service turned on)
  • Date you need the service (NOTE: Please allow three days to process online requests)
  • Mailing address (if different from the physical address)
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security or Federal Tax ID Number
  • Driver’s License or Passport
  • Spouse / roommate information
  • Completed Declaration of Domicile form

Online

To apply for service online, please visit the OMU Customer Sign-Up Page.

In Person

To apply for service in person, please come to our Customer Service Center at 2070 Tamarack Road, at least 24 hours before service is needed.

Connection Fee

There is a connection fee for water and electric services. A deposit may be required.

OMU Deposits

Most home owners are not charged a deposit if they bring in proof of ownership, but OMU sometimes requires a deposit. Customers with a letter of credit or customers with good payment history with OMU may not be required to pay a deposit. A credit check may be required to determine if a customer will be charged a deposit.

Good Payment History

A good payment history with OMU requires at least two years of service with OMU. In those years, the customer should have no disconnection of service, no returned checks, and less than six disconnect notices, with no more than two disconnect notices in any six month period.


Stop Service

Are you moving outside the OMU service area and need to cancel service for your residence?

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Physical address (where do you need service turned off)
  • Date you need the service turned off (NOTE: Please allow three days to process online requests)
  • Mailing address
  • Social Security or Federal Tax ID Number

Online

To stop your service online, please visit the OMU Termination of Service Page.

In Person

To stop your service in person, please come to our Customer Service Center at 2070 Tamarack Road, at least 24 hours before service is to be terminated.


Move Service

Are you already an OMU customer and moving from one location in our service area to another?

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Physical address (where do you need service turned on)
  • Address you are moving from
  • Address you are moving to
  • Date you need the service (NOTE: Please allow three days to process online requests)
  • Mailing address (if different from the physical address)
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security or Federal Tax ID Number
  • Driver’s License or Passport
  • Spouse / roommate information
  • Completed Declaration of Domicile form

If it is necessary for you to re-establish credit with a security deposit or if you need to obtain an acceptable guarantor we will contact you by email with additional instructions.

Online

To move your service online, please visit the OMU Transfer of Service Page.

In Person

To move your service in person, please come to our Customer Service Center at 2070 Tamarack Road, at least 24 hours before service is to be transferred.
