Scammers may contact utility customers; here’s how to avoid fraud

Scammers often attack during times of crisis. Some often contact utility customers threatening to disconnect services without immediate payment. As you know, OMU has temporarily discontinued disconnection for non-pay.  OMU will never ask for vital personal information over the phone and will only take credit card information when you want to pay by phone. Routine flushing of OMU water system began May 4

Owensboro Municipal Utilities crews are conducting the utility’s semi-annual water line flush for city customers starting May 4. The flushing is expected to take approximately one week. Reopening businesses should flush water lines

As local businesses begin to reopen following closures during the coronavirus crisis, they should consider flushing their water lines. Some internal customer pipes have been dormant for several weeks and could cause water to be discolored due to the build-up of sediment.
