Over the past two days, OMU customers have been targeted by scam calls and texts. Scammers have contacted numerous utility customers aggressively demanding payment and threatening disconnection of services. Utility scams are a nationwide issue and unfortunately many customers fall prey to these threats. Routine flushing of water system to begin April 4

Owensboro Municipal Utilities crews will be conducting the utility’s semi-annual water line flush for city customers starting April 4. The flushing is expected to take approximately two weeks. Tim Lyons named OMU’s next General Manager

At its regular meeting Thursday, March 17, 2022, the Owensboro Utility Commission named Tim Lyons as its next general manager. Lyons will replace current General Manager Kevin Frizzell who announced his retirement effective August 1, 2022. Lyons has served as OMU’s Director of Delivery since 2013, overseeing the water and electric distribution systems for the municipal utility. OMU awarded nearly $300,000 for water main replacements

On Thursday, March 3, Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman presented $4,728,098 in funding to the Daviess County Fiscal Court. The funding comes through Gov. Andy Beshear’s Cleaner Water Program and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, administered by the Department for Local Government.
