Owensboro Municipal Utilities will receive sealed bids until 2:00 P.M. (CST) on February 4, 2026 (prevailing time) at which time bids will be opened for the:
RFP 26-02-003 WELL 27 PITLESS ADAPTER AND K-PACKER INSTALLATION
Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to provide all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, machinery, materials and any other items and services necessary to install a pitless adapter and a liner (K-Packer) repair on Well #27 in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements. The primary goals of this project include:
REPAIR OF LEAK: There is currently a hole in the reducing section from the larger casing (14”) to the screen (10”), and a K-Packer style liner will need to be installed to effectively seal the leak.
PITLESS ADAPTER: An adapter needs to be installed to meet compliance of Kentucky Law 401 KAR 6:310, which requires all wellheads to be at least 2’ above grade to prevent any potential groundwater infiltration into the well casing. This will require modifying pit piping to the adapter, effectively sealing the adapter to the old casing, and modifying the existing pit doors.
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS: Changing of the Tee and check valve and adding some fresh gravel to the bottom of the pit.
