OMU is entering the final phase of its residential internet expansion, as we begin underground and overhead installation efforts in the northern areas of Owensboro.
As a result of this expansion, all residents in OMU’s service area will have access to affordable high-speed internet by the summer of 2024.
Beginning this month, residents in this area may notice OMU and contractor crews installing the necessary infrastructure. This will involve work in backyards and easements, as well as the placement of Before You Dig underground utility flags.
We appreciate your patience as crews maneuver and work throughout your neighborhoods. We also ask that you not remove any utility marker flags that may be placed on or near your property.
We invite residents in the expansion area to reserve your spot to be among the first in your neighborhood to benefit from reliable, locally-operated internet access. Watch for updates as to when it will be available in your specific neighborhood.
