September 2026 Energy Usage

September 2026 brought some of the hottest temperatures our area has experienced in recent years, resulting in higher-than-normal energy use across the OMU system.

OMU’s peak energy demand for the year to date occurred at on September 3, when system load reached 185.6 megawatts (MW). The last time OMU’s city load reached this level was August 25, 2023.

Higher temperatures can lead to increased electricity use as customers run air conditioning and other cooling equipment for longer periods. As a result, some customers may see a higher-than-normal electric bill for September, depending on their individual energy usage.

We encourage customers to review their energy use and take steps to conserve energy where possible.
