OMU is proud to support the festive lighting of our community by hosting our annual Holiday Lighting Contest.
The Holiday Lighting Contest aims to highlight residential displays that use electricity to decorate their homes and yards, making the holiday season brighter for all of us to enjoy.
Each year we accept entries from homeowners themselves and nominations from neighbors who appreciate the effort of making a delightful holiday display. Entries are judged on originality, use of light, color, design, and movement.
This unique residential Holiday Lighting Contest carries with it not only bragging rights, but a $250 OMU gift certificate and a lighted yard sign recognizing the winner. In addition, the winner is honored by the Owensboro City Commission and Owensboro Utility Commission.
The Holiday Lighting Contest is open to OMU customers within the city limits. Entries must be submitted on or before Thursday, December 4. Submit your entry or nomination at omu.org/holiday-lighting-contest or call 270-926-3200.
