Outage planned in Tamarack/Poet area

Please note: Due to weather forecasts, this project has been postponed until next week:

In order to maintain reliable electric service to our customers, OMU must perform periodic maintenance of its system. One of these jobs is tree trimming.

During the wind storms we experienced in April, it came to our attention that a large tree had grown too close to the OMU electric lines and resulted in an interruption of service. In order to eliminate the hazard, it is necessary for Asplundh, a contractor working for OMU, to perform some tree trimming. To perform this work safely, we must de-energize the electric lines in your area, which will result in a loss of power at homes . The work will be done, weather permitting, on the morning of Thursday, April 28st, 2016. The electric service to homes in this area will go off at 8:00 AM and will be restored at 11:00 AM or as soon as the work is completed.

Please do not call to report your service being out as this will be a planned outage. OMU will make every effort to minimize the time you are without service and as soon as the work is completed, your service will be restored.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but this will help to improve future reliability of your electric service. If you have any questions, you may call Mark Miller at 270-691-4244 or Sonya Dixon at 270-691-4336. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
