This unique residential holiday lighting contest carries with it not only bragging rights, but a $250 OMU gift certificate and a lighted yard sign. Annual 5K Power Run/Walk Caps Month-Long Celebration

OMU celebrated Halloween by hosting its annual 5K Power Run/Walk. The annual event has become a favorite among runners and walkers. The event capped off a month-long celebration of Public Power. The5K Power Run/Walk, organized by OMU employees, is hosted annually and included more than 200 walkers and runners. Prizes were awarded for top finishers in walking and running age categories. Routine flushing of water system to begin October 5

Owensboro Municipal Utilities crews will be conducting the utility’s semi-annual water line flush for city customers starting October 5. The flushing is expected to take approximately two weeks. Crews will be working between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. each of those days and will begin on the northeast end of the city and work south and west.
