Routine flushing of OMU water system to begin Monday, April 24

Owensboro Municipal Utilities crews will be conducting the utility’s semi-annual water line flush for city customers starting April 24 and ending April 28. The flushing is expected to take approximately one week.

Crews will be working between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. each of those days and will begin on the northeast end of the city and work south and west.

The crews will open fire hydrants throughout the water system as part of the process of flushing the lines. Customers may experience some cloudiness in their water and should let their water run a few minutes until the water clears.
