District main break affects pressure for OMU customers Boil Water Advisory issued for OMU customers in Springs Area

UPDATE: The boil water advisory for OMU customers affected by the pressure change in The Springs area has been lifted as of Wednesday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m.


OMU customers in The Springs area

Contractors working on Highway 54 as part of the widening of that roadway struck a main owned by the Daviess County Water District serving that area. As a result, water pressure has been affected for some OMU customers.

Work is underway to repair that main and stop the leak. Pressure should be restored within a few hours.

A boil water advisory has been issued for customers served by OMU in The Springs area. Customers will be notified by door hangers at your home or business this afternoon. If your home or business experienced a drop in water pressure as a result of this issue, you will be included in this boil water advisory.

As a precautionary measure, all water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil for 3 minutes. This advisory has been issued out of an abundance of caution and affected customers will be notified when it is lifted.

Notice for customers served by the Daviess County Water District in the Highway 54 Area

The Daviess County Water District has issued a boil water notice beginning at 10 AM today (May 10) until further notice for customers receiving water from the District within a 2 mile radius around the Highway 54 Walmart including the Springs to Thruston-Dermont from Hwy 54 North to Pleasant Valley Road to include Fairview Drive South of Highway 54 to Settles Road. Customers of the Daviess County Water District should bring water intended for consumption (drinking and food preparation) to a rolling boil for three minutes prior to use. District customers will be notified upon the lifting of this notice.
