OMU celebrates Public Power Month October event includes small appliance, LED light bulb giveaways

Each October, OMU joins more than 2,000 other community-owned utilities to celebrate Public Power Month. This celebration is an opportunity for us to recognize the importance of having a publicly owned and operated utility, such as OMU, serving our community.

OMU has provided electric and water utilities for more than 120 years, adding telecommunications and internet offerings in 1997.

As part of this celebration, customers visiting our Customer Service Center each Wednesday during the month will receive a free LED light bulb along with some useful energy saving tips, while supplies last. In addition, we are offering a chance to win one of four fabulous electric appliances: an Instant Pot Duo, a Ninja coffee maker, a Ninja air fryer, and a Kitchen Aid mixer.

Visit our Public Power page – and follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook – to learn more about the advantages of public power, our Public Power Month events, and to enter for a chance to win in our electric appliance giveaway.
