At Owensboro Municipal Utilities, we work diligently to bring our community quality service at the most economical costs. In an effort to continue to deliver quality water to your home, we are continuing a small main replacement program which will start June.

This effort will mean the replacement of two-inch or smaller water mains with larger six-inch versions that will better provide service to our customers, require less maintenance and improve fire protection. In addition, service lines and meters will be replaced.

OMU is working with a contractor, Ernie Davis & Sons, to complete this construction project. The following areas will be affected:

• Riverside Drive
• Eastwood Drive Willow Way
• Westview Drive Hillcrest Drive
• Wink Court East 26th Street (between McConnell & Old Hartford Road)
• West 7th Street (between Poindexter & Foust Avenue)

Please note that service lines and water mains are located in grassy areas and yards. Basic yard repair will take place at the time of digging, with complete repair being completed, weather permitting, within the next few months following the completion of the project.

June 25, 2008 Update: The small main replacement contractor has completed the installation of the new six-inch PVC main on Wink Court and Westview Drive. They will return to connect customer service lines in the near future. The next area for installation of the new main will include West 7th Street & Foust Avenue.
